A UK casino lobby can list thousands of titles, but they fall into a handful of families. Knowing how each one works, and how the UK rules shape it, helps you pick games that suit your budget and your patience.
Online slots
Slots make up most of every library on our list, from three-reel classics to feature-heavy video slots with free-spin rounds and cascading reels. Each spin's result is decided by a random number generator that is tested by an independent lab before the game can be offered in Great Britain.
What RTP really tells you
Return to player (RTP) is the share of all money staked that a game is designed to pay back over millions of spins. A slot with 96% RTP keeps an average of £4 of every £100 staked across all players, but in a single session you can win or lose much more than that. RTP says nothing about your next hour of play. Volatility does more of the work: low-volatility slots pay small amounts often, high-volatility slots pay rarely but bigger.
UK slot rules you will notice
- Stake limits: since 2025 online slot spins are capped at £5 per spin, or £2 per spin for players aged 18 to 24.
- Speed: each spin must take at least 2.5 seconds, and turbo or quick-spin features are not allowed.
- No autoplay: every spin needs a deliberate action.
- Clear results: a win smaller than your stake can't be celebrated with win sounds or animations.
- Session information: you can see how long you have played and your net position.
Live dealer games
Live casino streams real tables from studios, run by providers such as Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic Play, and in Grosvenor's case from its own British casino floors. You place bets through on-screen controls while a dealer runs the game in real time. Expect blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game-show formats with a wheel or bonus rounds. Table limits vary, so check the minimum bet before you sit down.
Table games and RNG versions
Digital versions of blackjack, roulette and baccarat use a random number generator instead of a dealer. They are quicker and usually allow lower stakes. Rules matter a great deal here: European roulette with a single zero has a lower house edge than American roulette with two zeros, and blackjack tables with different payouts for a blackjack (3:2 versus 6:5) are not the same game in value terms.
Jackpots
Progressive jackpot slots put a small slice of every stake into a growing prize pool. The headline amounts are real but the odds of winning the top prize are very long, and the base game RTP is often lower to fund the jackpot. Treat jackpots as entertainment, never as a plan.
Which casino suits which player?
If you mostly play slots, Mr Vegas has the largest library among our eight and LeoVegas and PlayOJO both offer 3,000+ titles. For live dealer variety, LeoVegas lists around 300 live tables. If you want live roulette from real UK venues, Grosvenor is the only brand on our list that streams from its own casinos. The comparison table on the home page has the full detail.
